It is a tradition for many people to make a New Year's resolution, typically involving major things in their life. I'm going to be ringing in the new year with my in-laws this year and my kids will be able to join us the year! To share this tradition, I decided to share my list of resolutions (slightly different from normal) with you all and I would love to see what yours are. I will post updates throughout the year as I check them off my list. Here goes nothing..
A bad habit I'm going to break: Popping my knuckles. This one is to set a good example for my kids who are now starting to do the other same thing and I have been kind of hypocritical about it. This is also for my mom, who HATES hearing me do this.
A new skill I'd like to learn: I have loved to bake and I am starting my own bakery business from my home featuring small baked goods and cupcakes, but I would like to be able to learn the art of making pretty cakes that people would want.
A person I hope to be more like: I am going to strive to be more Ellen DeGeneres. She seems to be such a happy person anytime I see her, and I want to be happier all around. I want to be the person that others want to be around more because of my attitude.
A good deed I'm going to do: I want to do something I have seen before floating around online and I want to do it this year... For my birthday this year, I want to do one random act of kindness for each year of age.
A place I'd like to visit: Temecula, California. I want to visit the places and people I grew up around.
A book I'd like to read: I love reading! I actually got my biggest Christmas gift (a tablet) so that I could read easier. Because I now have a great news tool to. do this anywhere I go, I want to read at least one large book each month, but making sure to include the "Divergent" series and "Heaven is For Real."
A letter I'm going to write: I am going to write a letter of forgiveness to myself for the stupid things I've done and do my best to move past them rather than beat myself up over things from years past that can't be changed.
A new food I'd like to try: This is hard for me as I am not adventurous with my food at all, but I am going to strive to try one new food each month.
I'm going to do better at: Being patient. Not only with my kids, but my husband and myself as well as others around me.
